KARABINER ELEMENTS PAGE DOWN INSTALL

No matter how many times I go through the setup, Karabiner Elements always fails to install its driver on this machine. For what its worth, I use Karabiner-Elements to rebind the right Option key to Fn, which lets me do a one-hand Page Up/Down in any app. Until recently I solved this by remapping the offending keys using Karabiner Elements.įast-forward a few years and I’ve got a newer MacBook Pro, circa 2019.

The Mac’s default behaviour is to swap the section mark and plus-minus (§, ±) keys with the backtick/tilde key. for example, when editing a web-based textarea like this one, the home and end keys would act like page up and page down, making the whole webpage suddenly jolt up or down instead of just moving the inline cursor to the start or end of the line. It thinks it’s ANSI layout (no extra key left of ‘z’) but it’s actually ISO layout (backtick/tidle left of z). the home/end keys on my logitech mx keyboard were driving me insane on my mac (11.5.2 big sur).

Unfortunately, MacOS has never correctly detected the layout of this keyboard. I solved this by buying a Mac-compatible mechanical keyboard from Varmilo.
